I am looking for quotes on behalf of Mslexia Publications Ltd, which is a magazine that supports women writers. We are based in Newcastle although we are national magazine. We are hoping to re-design the magazine this year as our current style and layout has been in place for the last 6 years and is now in need of a re-vamp. (we are not considering re-branding at this stage) I am currently looking for funders who will help us to finance the re-design, however to make funding applications for this type of work I do need three quotes from different designers. We are hoping to start work on this in the new year. Mslexia Magazine Redesign 1. Consultation Meetings with Mslexia to: · Explore current and past designs of the magazine, assess strengths and weaknesses, positioning and values. · Survey direct and indirect competitors’ approaches to ensure differentiation. · Discuss objectives, vision and aspirations. · Create a mood-board of likes/dislikes in editorial design and, as appropriate, other design areas to refine and detail the brief. 2. Design Concept · Develop an overall look and feel for the magazine and demonstrate how this is embedded into the various sections of the magazine. This includes directions for fonts, colour palette, approach to illustration/photography, pace, white space, grid, navigation tools. · Design development · Detail agreed direction into section layouts. Present, refine and agree full magazine design. · Template design finalisation 3. Redesign follow-up · Familiarising in-house staff with use of new templates · Troubleshooting the new design for April and July issues · Fine-tuning in response to reader feedback for the July issue
